Staying Motivated

Let me begin by saying that it is very hard to stay motivated during the winter months! Everything seems so gray and gloomy. There is not much sunshine and when the sun does make it through the gray cloudy sky, there is usually dirty snow everywhere. What I realized the other day when reading some blogs and looking at some of the wonderful winter images on flickr is that there are some beautiful things all around us.

I went for a walk the other day in beautiful Wooster, OH after we received about 10 inches of snow. I took my camera with me because I had not taken many shots in the last couple of months and I needed to get motivated. I realized that there are some amazing things to be captured. I fired off some shots and though they may not be the best, it just goes to show that you should never stop shooting.

My wife and I just had our second daughter and she is beautiful. Her name is Hope Ellen Jones. It makes my wife angry that both girls look like their dad, but I love it. Had some time from work the other day to snap a few photos for Christmas cards and I wanted to share some of those.

Stealing Images!

So I work for The College of Wooster in the Admissions office. We are in the process of searching for and gathering information from companies for new publications. My VP asked that I come in on Saturday to review and print out some final presentations or examples from some of the companies. (I will not mention names)

When I came into the office and started to review some of the examples I noticed that the images being used by one of the companies looked really familiar. So I started to explore. I went to my flickr page and noticed that the images being used by the company were my pictures. (My images are All Rights Reserved)Not sure how to react to this. At first I was a little annoyed but the more I think about it it is kinda funny.

I know it is easy to get images off of Flickr, but you want to be careful that the persons images your are taking does not work for the place you are sending the proposal.

Santa Fe
